Payaza relaunches with an updated logo and mission
On Friday, July 5, Payaza, a leading fintech company, introduced a 360-degree rebrand and ushered in a new era. The brand had the chance to highlight its journey and accomplishments to date during the launch, which took place at The Hall in Lagos State.
Founded in 2021, Payaza is a dynamic payment platform that helps companies send and receive money both locally and globally. The CEO is Seyi Ebenezer, the CFO is Tochukwu Ekwonna, the CTO is Philips Akinyele, the CPO is Tolulope Atomori, and the CMO is Shola Asiru.
The business has established a presence in 19 nations in just three years of operation, including those in the Middle East, West Africa, and Southern and Eastern Africa. It received licenses as a money services business (MSB) in all 50 states of North America and Canada towards the end of last year.
In order to make payments easier, the business also has partnerships with MasterCard and Visa in addition to six ISOs. Currently, Payaza holds the sole authorization as a Visa processor in sub-Saharan Africa.
The team at Payaza realized after years of bootstrapping and revolutionizing payments in Africa that, despite their substantial contributions to the payment landscape, they had overlooked the marketing and branding aspects of things that are essential to business growth.
Given the brand’s rapid growth and addition of new service offerings, the previous identity did the brand no favors. The recent rebranding is the result of the efforts made by the Payaza team to address this.
Regarding this rebrand, Philip Akinyele said that creating a business in Africa has presented its own set of particular regional difficulties and lessons learned thus far.
The goal of the journey, which commenced approximately four years ago, was to introduce a worldwide payment platform that would aid companies, particularly MSMEs.
We have observed a benefit in Africa, where many MSMEs are underserved.. One of the issues that the new Payaza seeks to address is this one. We anticipate that the global market we are building will grow rapidly over the next few years, having begun our journey today.
“We are not only going to be making payments, we are also going into other spaces,” he continued, announcing that they are launching new products into the market. He stated, “We have two products: Event Porte, which is a worldwide ticketing solution, and Stride, which is a tuition payment solution.
Mr. Ibrahim Ibitade, the co-founder and CEO of Leatherback; Mr. Gossy Ukanwoke, the CEO of BetKing; Elliott Sangoleye, the group head of e-business at Providus Bank; Seun Alley, the CEO of Fez Delivery; Prakash Vaswani, the Chairman of Geepee Industries; Caleb Izedonmi, the head of risk at Visa West Africa; Adeolu Ogunsiji, the managing director of TeraSwitch; Fadipe Oluranti, speaking on behalf of Tolani Sule, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Lagos State; Awesu Yeside Account at Petrocam; Bukola Bankole, managing director at TNP; Sulaimon Ishola, senior manager for Financial Advisory at Deloitte; Ifelade Ayodele, CEO of Blaaiz; and numerous other business executives were also present.
